The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to take their time with tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins. Despite getting limited practices in recent weeks, Seferian-Jenkins is inactive for the team's Week 11 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's the eighth straight game the second-year player will sit out.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins inactive again, will miss 8th straight game
The second-year tight end has yet to be cleared to play.

Seferian-Jenkins hasn’t played since suffering a shoulder injury in Week 2. The original timeline for his return was 4-6 weeks, but despite sitting out more than two months, head coach Lovie Smith says that he has yet to be cleared for contact. Seferian-Jenkins had another week of limited practices and was listed as questionable for Week 11, but Smith was more blunt in his comments, saying that “he’s not healthy, ready to go.”
A first-round pick out of the University of Washington, Seferian-Jenkins' NFL career has been marred by injuries. He played just nine games in his rookie year, putting up 21 catches for 221 yards and two touchdowns. This year, the hope was that he'd develop a rapport with quarterback Jameis Winston, but the two had only two games to work together before Seferian-Jenkins went down again.
It’s possible that he makes his return soon with the 4-5 Bucs hanging on the fringes of playoff contention, but it’s clear that they don’t intend on rushing him back.
