Former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was reportedly arrested on Tuesday on multiple charges, including assault on a law officer, according to a report from KSN-TV in Wichita, Kan.

The former Dallas Cowboys running back was reportedly arrested on Tuesday on several charges, including assault on an officer.

Randle, 23, was released by the Cowboys earlier in November amid concerns about the running back’s mental state. At Kansas Star Casino, just south of Wichita, Randle was reportedly arrested on suspicion of criminal threat, assault on a law officer, battery, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, and interference with law enforcement. As of Wednesday morning, Randle was reportedly still in a county jail on a $25,000 bond.
In October 2014, Randle was arrested for shoplifting cologne and underwear, but only received a fine from the NFL for the misdemeanor charges. An arrest in February for a domestic dispute did earn Randle a four-game suspension shortly after his release from the Cowboys.
The Cowboys’ concern for Randle’s mental state came after the running back spent his final two weeks with the team away from the organization while dealing with personal issues, according to The Dallas Morning News.
A chaotic confluence of events that includes a demotion, a nagging back injury, a looming punishment by the NFL for violating the personal conduct policy in February and an unusual call to Irving police on Wednesday knocked Randle off balance in recent days. Randle didn’t practice last week and spent most of his time away from team headquarters.
Randle started the first six games of 2015 for the Cowboys, tallying 313 yards and four touchdowns on 76 carries. A fifth-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, Randle accumulated 507 yards and five touchdowns in his first two seasons with the Cowboys.
He is currently a free agent, but will serve his four-game suspension if he is ever added to a roster, and his arrest on Tuesday night could add more to the punishment.
