Patriots vs. Broncos 2015 picks and predictions: Experts evenly split between top AFC teams

Many experts are taking the Broncos to deal the Patriots their first loss of 2015, but SB Nation’s team is convinced by undefeated New England.

Only two teams have managed to beat the Denver Broncos, but nobody has knocked off the New England Patriots, although many experts are pegging the Broncos to put an end to that on Sunday night. The game, which can be streamed on NBC Sports Live Extra, is a crucial one in the AFC postseason race and has experts split.

The Broncos are atop the AFC West thanks to an elite defense that helped the team bounce back from a pair of consecutive losses by holding the Chicago Bears to just 15 points in Week 11. The only two losses for the Broncos were the only two games in which the team allowed more than 24 points, but holding the Patriots under that mark is a tall ask.

New England averages 32.3 points per game, and even in the team's lowest output of the season, a 20-13 win against the Bills in Week 11, the Patriots still managed to rack up 356 yards of offense. Flying under the radar though, is the Patriots defense which has allowed the fewest points in the NFL.

After several poor showings by Peyton Manning, the Broncos offense looked more functional with Brock Osweiler at quarterback and that has many experts convinced that Denver could deal the Patriots their first loss of the 2015 season.

At CBS Sports, five of eight panelists are taking the Broncos to win, while seven of ESPN’s 13 experts are siding with the Patriots.

SB Nation’s team is much more convinced in the Patriots than others. Only Stephen White is taking the Broncos (although White is the most accurate picker this season), while the OddsShark computer is joining him.
