Charcandrick West, Jarvis Landry headline Week 12 NFL injury report

West is inactive in Week 12 while he recovers from a hamstring strain.

Throughout the season, SB Nation’s Medical Expert, Dr. Ali Mohamadi, will provide his insights on the most notable injuries in the fantasy landscape and how they might affect your roster decisions on game day. Here is a look at some key injuries and their impact for Week 12 games.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been surging as of late, but will have to go without running back Charcandrick West on Sunday against the Bills due to a hamstring strain that kept him out of practice all week. West suffered the injury during last week’s win over the San Diego Chargers and was replaced capably by Spencer Ware. Although West was officially listed as questionable on the Chiefs’ injury report, given that hamstring strains are prone to aggravation if tested before an athlete has completely healed -- let alone his absence on the practice field this week -- he is inactive this week.

There was some confusion on West’s status as of early Sunday morning. ESPN’s Adam Schefter said that he wouldn’t play, but Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that West was “rapidly improving” and could be a game-time decision. Before kickoff, though, he ended up on the team’s list of inactives.

Although also listed as questionable, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry will take the field Sunday against the Jets despite a knee injury that kept him out of practice Wednesday and Friday of this past week. Landry tweaked the knee last week against the Cowboys, and even though he did take the practice field on Thursday, he was unable to make it through without discomfort, and he was held out the next day as a precautionary measure.

Arizona receiver Michael Floyd sat out last week’s thrilling win over Cincinnati with a hamstring strain, but has practiced on a limited basis this week, which improved hopes for a return to action Sunday against San Francisco. Reports Sunday morning said that he was expected to play, and in the afternoon, he was officially in the lineup for the Cardinals.
