The Philadelphia Eagles have lost three straight and patience with Chip Kelly is running thin, but the head coach maintains that he is "totally committed" to his job with the Eagles. Despite rumors that USC and Maryland have shown interest in hiring him, Kelly says college jobs are not on his radar.
Chip Kelly is ‘totally committed’ to Eagles even if he might get fired soon
Kelly says he has no interest in college jobs and was never contacted by USC.

“I’ve been totally committed since the day I got here on Jan. 16, 2013 and that hasn’t changed,” Kelly said at a press conference on Monday.
Kelly also said he’s “never been looking at college jobs” since he was hired by the Eagles and refuted reports that he was contacted by USC for their vacancy that was filled on Monday morning. Prior to removing interim from Clay Helton’s title and promoting him to head coach, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said USC contacted Kelly to inform the former Oregon head coach of their interest.
“I’ve never spoken to anybody from USC, I’ve never emailed anybody from USC, I’ve never got a phone call from anybody at USC,” Kelly said. “I haven’t had any contact with anybody from Southern California. I’m not involved in any college jobs. I’ve said it before, the same thing happened last year with Florida. I have a lot of respect for all those schools ... but I haven’t been involved in any jobs and I haven’t discussed anything with any colleges.”
Kelly has also reportedly received interest from Maryland, who have a coaching vacancy after firing Randy Edsall in October. While it doesn’t look like Kelly has any intention to leave the Eagles for another job, the team’s recent performance might not leave him a choice.
After a blowout loss to the Detroit Lions that raised questions about the team's effort level, the Eagles will drop to 4-8 if they aren't able to upset the New England Patriots in Week 13. But if Kelly is fired, he likely won't have to wait long for another opportunity and could even take over as the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans, according to Rapoport.
Kelly has a 24-19 record as head coach of the Eagles, but posted a 46-7 record with the Oregon Ducks, including wins in the Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl.
