San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Anquan Boldin is inactive for the second week in a row. Boldin is set to miss the team’s Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Anquan Boldin inactive for depleted 49ers in Week 9
The injury-ravaged 49ers will be without their veteran receiver for the second straight game.

Boldin has been dealing with a lingering hamstring injury that he aggravated in Week 7. He did not practice this week and was listed as doubtful on the injury report. Boldin is tentatively expected to return when the 49ers come off their Week 10 bye.
The 35-year-old has been one of the few constants in San Francisco’s passing offense since being acquired from the Baltimore Ravens via trade in 2013. Through seven games, Boldin has 31 catches for 372 yards and two touchdowns.
Boldin’s absence makes the 49ers precariously thin at receiver. Torrey Smith is the new No. 1 option, with Quinton Patton and Jerome Simpson also expected to see significant snaps. The team is also missing running back Carlos Hyde, who has a stress fracture in his foot. It’s a nightmare scenario for quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who is making his first start of the year in place of the benched Colin Kaepernick.
