The Philadelphia Eagles are reshuffling their depth chart at running back. According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Murray might be the fourth running back on the roster this week as his apparent rift with Chip Kelly continues to grow. Darren Sproles is expected to take over as the lead back with Ryan Mathews being mixed in accordingly. Mathews will be back in the lineup against the Buffalo Bills Sunday after missing three games because of a concussion he suffered in Week 10.
DeMarco Murray could be 4th-string RB as Ryan Mathews returns vs. Bills
Murray could reportedly sink to as low as fourth at running back on the Eagles’ depth chart the same week Mathews is slated to make his return after suffering a concussion in Week 10.

Before his injury, Mathews was performing better than any other running back on the team's roster, including Murray. While the prized free agent acquisition from the Dallas Cowboys has managed just 3.5 yards per carry, Mathews has tallied 5.8 and the decision not to give the former San Diego Chargers first-round pick more touches earlier in the season drew criticism for the Eagles coaches.
With Mathews on the sideline, things haven't got much better for Murray who was essentially benched against the New England Patriots in Week 13 in favor of Darren Sproles, although Kelly contends that it was the size of the Patriots linebackers that kept Murray on the sideline for most of the game. This week, Murray reportedly met with owner Jeffrey Lurie about Kelly and criticized the coach's approachability.
In a big game for Eagles' postseason chances, having Mathews in the lineup is important, against a Bills defense that is No. 14 against the run. The game also will feature the return of LeSean McCoy to Philadelphia after the running back was traded in the offseason and replaced with Murray and Mathews.
In nine games with the Eagles, Mathews has 427 rushing yards and five touchdowns on only 74 carries. He also has 119 receiving yards and a touchdown on 14 receptions.
