Linebacker Justin Houston, a key component of the Kansas City Chiefs' defense, is expected to miss the remainder of the 2015 regular season with a knee injury, although ESPN's Adam Schefter says the team is hopeful he could return in the postseason.
Chiefs LB Justin Houston sidelined for remainder of regular season with a knee injury
The Chiefs are hopeful Justin Houston could return in the postseason.

Houston suffered a PCL sprain against the Buffalo Bills in Week 12 and has been unable to return to the field since. Further testing after the injury revealed a sprain, but NFL Media’s Rand Getlin reported Wednesday that Houston would see Dr. James Andrews to further assess the injury. The Chiefs subsequently announced that Houston will miss the remainder of the season.
Kansas City is 8-5 and currently holds the top wild card spot in the AFC. The team is also in the hunt for the AFC West title, behind the 10-3 Broncos with three weeks left to play.
Houston has been a key part of the Chiefs' defense, with 30 tackles, 7.5 sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble this season. With playoffs looming, not having Houston healthy is a blow for the Chiefs, who will look to Dee Ford to fill the void. Ford had seven tackles, three sacks and one pass deflection against the San Diego Chargers in Week 14.
