The San Francisco 49ers have some shakeups going down in the front office, and on the field things aren’t looking much better. Colin Kaepernick is out for the year and Blaine Gabbert is the starting quarterback. Gabbert will make his third consecutive start when he faces the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
49ers vs. Bears 2015 picks and predictions: Experts nearly unanimous in picking Chicago
Experts think the Bears will take down the 49ers to start a winning streak on Sunday.
Neither team is contending for the playoffs, but the Bears are certainly in better shape on all levels of the organization. Chicago’s coaching staff is impressive and one of the few reasons the team has been competitive in recent weeks, but there are talented players on the roster as well. Jay Cutler and Matt Forte have been better than expected this year, and the Bears have won three out of their last four games.
But the Bears also have a 5-6 record, with tough games against the rival Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions still on the schedule. One thing going in their favor is the fact that they’re coming off a huge upset over the Green Bay Packers in Week 12. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are a tough team to beat, and now the Bears have some momentum going into a game against the 49ers.
As far as the experts are concerned, they are nearly unanimous in doubting the 49ers. At CBS Sports, all eight of their experts picked the Bears. Of the 13 experts picking for ESPN, just one of them picked San Francisco to win it. And all seven experts here at SB Nation, along with the OddsShark Computer, think Chicago will win it.
