The Kansas City Chiefs are in control of their own destiny and if the playoffs started today, they would have the fifth seed in the AFC. They were in similar shape last season, having won five consecutive games before losing to the Oakland Raiders on the road.

The Chiefs control their own destiny, but they have a tough game against the rival Raiders coming up next.
After falling to the Raiders in that game, the Chiefs lost three consecutive games and ultimately missed the playoffs. They're not nearly in as good a shape as they were at this point last season, but the Chiefs have won their last five games, which includes dominant wins over the rival Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers, and wins against good teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions.
On Sunday, the 6-5 Chiefs will travel to Oakland to take on the Raiders for the first time this season. Oakland is sitting at 5-6 on the year and still have a shot at the playoffs given the seemingly low bar for taking a wild card spot this season. The Raiders aren’t totally in control of their own destiny, but a win over the Chiefs in Week 13 would be huge.
The Raiders and Chiefs will play each other again in Week 17. That game could be huge for playoff implications, but the Raiders will have a long way to go if they can't beat the Chiefs on Sunday. That's because they have very tough games against the Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers in their next two games.
Experts haven’t reached a consensus as far as picking Sunday’s game is concerned. Over at CBS Sports, the eight experts are split, with half picking Oakland and half picking Kansas City. It’s a little more definitive at ESPN, where 11 of the 13 experts think the Chiefs will walk away with a win. Here at SB Nation, four of the experts, plus the OddsShark Computer, are going with Oakland. The other three experts think the Chiefs can win it.
