The Indianapolis Colts have a 2-5 record with Andrew Luck as the starting quarterback, but in the four games he has missed, Matt Hasselbeck has led the team to victories each time. Experts don't expect that surprising trend to continue in Week 13, though, when the Colts hit the road for a tough matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on NBC's Sunday Night Football.
Colts vs. Steelers 2015 picks and predictions: Experts picking Pittsburgh to grab AFC Wild Card lead
The Colts and Steelers have matching 6-5 records, but experts are much more confident in the explosive offense of Pittsburgh.
Ben Roethlisberger has also dealt with injuries for much of the season, but the Steelers have battled through that to remain a playoff contender with at 6-5. While catching the 9-2 Cincinnati Bengals seems unlikely for the Steelers, they are tied for the lead in the AFC Wild Card race which is suddenly tight, with several teams battling for two spots.
Even in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the Steelers offense looked to be back in form with Roethlisberger leading the way. The team is No. 4 in total offense and has eclipsed 450 yards in each of the last three games.
While the Colts have a 6-5 record and are atop the AFC South standings with the Houston Texans, their underlying numbers aren't pretty. Indianapolis is No. 22 in offense and No. 26 in defense, but still enters on a three-game winning streak after beating the Broncos, Falcons and Buccaneers to round out November.
At CBS Sports, seven of eight panelists don’t trust the Colts to keep their winning ways against the Steelers. Just two of the 13 experts at ESPN are taking the Colts, with the other 11 picking the Steelers. Only Cris Carter and Seth Wickersham went against the grain at ESPN and took the Colts.
SB Nation’s team is siding with the Steelers as well, although unlike CBS and ESPN, not one expert at SB Nation was willing to take the Colts.
