The Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins are technically still in the playoff race, but with both sitting at 4-7 on the season, a postseason berth seems unlikely. They're only two games back of other teams in the hunt, but neither team has shown much in recent weeks to make a miraculous 9-7 playoff appearance likely.

The Ravens and Dolphins are still in the playoff race, but just barely.
A loss on Sunday won’t actually eliminate either of them, but being realistic, the chances are slim for both teams. They will face off in Miami on Sunday and both will surely fight just as hard as ever because the postseason is a goal, even if an unrealistic one.
If momentum is to be considered, the Ravens have it. Since a three-game losing skid starting in Week 5, the Ravens have won three of their last four games, including their last two. Their last one, against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12, the Ravens won despite being without franchise quarterback Joe Flacco. Matt Schaub started in place of Flacco, who tore his ACL in a win over the St. Louis Rams in Week 11.
In his first start since 2013, Schaub completed 20 of 34 passes for 232 yards with a pair of touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. He didn’t look great, but he took no sacks and he kept the Ravens on course enough to let the Browns make mistakes. Schaub got 104 yards out of the running game to support him and probably shouldn’t have been asked to throw as much as he did.
Schaub has a long history of injury and struggles, but he's the starter going forward for the Ravens. He last played significant snaps with the Houston Texans in 2013, completing 61.2 percent of his passes for 2,310 yards with 10 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
Schaub almost gave the Ravens a loss in his first start. The Browns were in position to kick a game-winning field goal, but Ravens defensive end Brent Urban blocked the field goal and Will Hill managed to secure the loose ball and took it 64 yards to give the Ravens a victory. It was a huge play, and one the Ravens probably can't count on again.
The Dolphins gave Ryan Tannehill a contract extension this offseason, but his play has been inconsistent this year. They want him to be a franchise quarterback, and he's playing well at times, but with 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, the Dolphins likely feel he's too inconsistent in his fourth season.
He has completed 62.0 percent of his passes and thrown five touchdowns in the Dolphins' last two games, though. Unfortunately, that hasn't been enough to lead them to wins and they were soundly defeated by both the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets.
The Ravens rank 13th in the league in total offense, while the Dolphins are struggling down in 27th. On the defensive side of the ball, the Ravens rank 17th in the league while Miami is all the way down in 28th. On paper, Schaub and the Ravens should be winning their third consecutive game, but they have been just as inconsistent as Miami this year.
