Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz are just minutes away from getting the Super Bowl 49 halftime show underway. Although many viewers are glued to the game happening right now between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks as they battle for the Lombardi Trophy, plenty of people are anxiously awaiting halftime to see what kind of show one of the biggest stars in pop music puts on.

Perry is a multi-million album selling pop artist best known for hits like “I Kissed a Girl,” “Firework” and “Roar.” The past two years have been solid when it comes to halftime performances, with relevant artists like Beyonce and Bruno Mars headlining. That’s a stark contrast to other years, when many harped on the NFL for being out of touch with its choice of older performers.

But Perry has a massive following and is as relevant as they get right now. Apparently unwilling to keep it just to the fresh face, the NFL also has Kravitz joining in on the performance. With decades of experience in the music industry, Kravitz is still going strong with his music today.

Perry is well-known for collaborating and Perry hinted that she would bring a “throwback” female musician on stage with her, but she never announced who the guest would be. News came out soon after that rapper Missy Elliott would reportedly join her as a surprise guest. The two artists previously worked together in 2011 on a remix of Perry’s hit song “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).”

The exact details of Perry’s performance remain a mystery, but her appearances at various awards shows and on tour are known to be complex and detailed performances. Super Bowl director Hamish Hamilton said that viewers should expect the unexpected, offering “This is a brand-new show, brand-new soundtrack and a brand-new collaboration,” according to Andrea Mandell of USA Today.

While there is less time to set up for a halftime show, Perry still has something big planned for the biggest stage in the world. She has stressed how prepared she is for the show, which she hopes will leave the audience, above all else, entertained.

This won’t be her first football-related appearance, either. Perry was a guest on ESPN’s College GameDay during the college football season for an Ole Miss game. That appearance included her wearing a fuzzy pink sweater and holding up a corn dog — yes, a corn dog:

With a wild imagination, who knows what she has in store in Arizona. But there might be as many people tuning in to see Perry and a good halftime show as there are people watching for something to go horribly wrong so they can talk about it and compare it to missteps of past halftime shows. Whether Perry and Kravitz put together a halftime show for the ages or one that will be ridiculed, we’ll find out soon.
