One of the stories to emerge from Super Bowl XLIX was a possible concussion for Julian Edelman, the New England Patriots wideout who absorbed a hit to the head from Kam Chancellor during the fourth quarter. Julian Edelman passed concussion test in Super Bowl, per report
Doctors cleared Edelman when he returned to the sideline.

Concerns over Edelman's health were elevated due to reports that the league's independent doctors phoned for him to be checked. Still, Edelman was never removed from play and remained on the field for the rest of the Patriots' drive. According to the AP report, the team medical staff and an independent neurologist checked Edelman on the sideline.
Edelman finished the game as the Patriots leading receiver, hauling in nine passes for 109 yards. Three of those catches and 33 of those yards came after the Chancellor hit, as did Edelman’s game-clinching touchdown. The 3-yard score with two minutes left put New England up 28-24, their final margin of victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
Though he may not have suffered a concussion during the Super Bowl, Edelman has dealt with head injuries in the past. He missed New England’s final two games this season while recovering from a concussion.
