NFL Combine results 2015: 40-yard dash times for linebackers

Paul Dawson, Bud Dupree and Shaq Thompson were among the linebackers participating in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine on Sunday.

The NFL Combine is almost over, and on Sunday the defensive linemen and linebackers saw the field for workouts and drills, including the 40-yard dash. All that’s left is for the defensive backs to hit the field on Monday. But first, we’ve got the results from the linebackers running the 40-yard dash.

Mike Hull, who put up 31 reps of 225 pounds in the bench press on Saturday, ran a solid 4.68 on the day. His bench press numbers were significantly higher than the rest at his position. The fastest 40 time of the day went to LSU’s Kwon Alexander, who recorded a time of 4.55 seconds.

Paul Dawson, considered by many to be the top linebacker prospect this year, turned in a time of 4.93 seconds. That wasn’t stellar or close to being among the best at the position, but it also likely didn’t hurt his draft stock drastically. Bud Dupree, one of the top pass rushers coming out this year, set one of the fastest times at 4.56, while Washington’s Shaq Thompson managed a 4.64.

Thompson worked out with the linebackers and hopes to play that spot at the next level, though Mike Mayock notably included Thompson in his safety rankings in early February.
