LaMarr Woodley is signed with the Arizona Cardinals on a one-year deal on Tuesday after being released by the Oakland Raiders this offseason, a deal first reported by Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo and Peter Schrager. Woodley signed a two-year deal with the Raiders before the 2014 season, but was released after under-performing and suffered a torn biceps tendon.
LaMarr Woodley signs with Cardinals
LaMarr Woodley is expected to land in Arizona after a failed stop in Oakland.

There is no word yet on the financial details of the agreement. Presumably, he’ll come at a much cheaper price than the the two-year, $12 million deal he signed with Oakland. Woodley was signed to make a significant impact as an edge rusher, but he managed just five tackles in six starts before being lost for the season due to injury.
Not long ago, Woodley was worth $61.5 million over six years to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He averaged more than 10 sacks per season heading into 2011, and was expected to feature in a stout Pittsburgh defense for years to come. Injuries derailed Woodley's prospects, though. He managed just nine sacks total over his final two seasons in Pittsburgh before the team decided to absorb a significant cap hit and release before the 2014 season.
SB Nation presents: The best bargains in NFL free agency
In Arizona, Woodley will likely be asked to play a situational role. Even if he isn’t an every down player, he can take heart knowing he is landing with one of the best defenses in the league.
The Cardinals finished fifth in the NFL allowing just 18.7 points per game during the regular season while handcuffed to an injury-riddled offense. The team was one of the best in the league at forcing turnovers, finishing with a plus-8 turnover differential.
