The Oakland Raiders addressed their defense on Wednesday by signing linebacker Curtis Lofton and defensive tackle Dan Williams, according to Michael C. Wright of ESPN.
Raiders sign Dan Williams, Curtis Lofton, per report
The Raiders bolstered their defense by adding two potential starters on Wednesday.

Williams, 27, will receive about $6 million per year and $15 million guaranteed, according to Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic, and will fill the nose tackle void that the Raiders originally targeted free agent defensive tackle Terrance Knighton to fill. The Raiders originally brought in Knighton, but the former Denver Broncos defensive tackle said the offer he received was "not close" to what he was looking for.
The consolation prize is Williams, a first-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, who played 70 games for the Arizona Cardinals over the last five seasons.
Lofton, 28, joins the Raiders after three seasons as the starting middle linebacker of the New Orleans Saints. He was selected in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons and was an immediate starter as a rookie, starting all but one game with the team before leaving to join the Saints. His streak of 112 consecutive starts is tied for the league best among linebackers with Julius Peppers.
It will be a three-year deal for Lofton, according to Josina Anderson of ESPN.
