The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms with free agent running back Reggie Bush, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Bush seemed to have confirmed the move on his official Twitter account, saying "The best is yet to come," with a 49ers hashtag. Bush joins a 49ers team that recently moved on from long-time veteran Frank Gore and plans to transition to second-year player Carlos Hyde as the starter. Bush fits the bill as a change-of-pace back in San Francisco's offense.

Reggie Bush should still have enough in the tank to be a nice change-of-pace back.

Not long before free agency began, the Detroit Lions cut 30-year-old Bush, marking the third NFL team to move on from the 2006 No. 2 overall pick. Bush had five up-and-down years with the New Orleans Saints, followed by two good seasons in Miami, then an injury-plagued two years in Detroit.
In 2013 during Bush's first season with the club, he became the first Lions running back to gain 1,000 yards in a season since 2004. However, Bush battled ankle injuries this past season and recorded just 550 total yards.
For his career, Bush has rushed for 5,465 yards on 1,266 carries (4.3 yards per carry) with 35 scores. He’s also caught 466 passes for 3,489 yards and 18 scores over his nine NFL seasons. Bush should still have enough in the tank to be a nice change-of-pace back, but he’s not going to be a guy who gets 20-plus touches per game.
