Adrian Peterson wants out of Minnesota. The Vikings' all-time leading rusher is ready to move on after spending nine years with the club, something his agent, Ben Dogra, announced Monday at the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix, Ariz., according to Jarrett Bell of USA Today.

The best running back of this generation is having a stand-off with his current team, and the Cowboys could benefit.
If Peterson eventually gets his wish, the Dallas Cowboys might be the benefactors. Dallas, which lost DeMarco Murray to the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, are interested in bringing Peterson aboard.
ESPN's Jane McManus took a stab at the situation in a tweet, referring to Jerry Jones acquiring defensive end Greg Hardy on a one-year, $11.3 million deal. Jones signed Hardy despite only playing one game last year because he was on the Commissioner's Exempt List after being convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend Nicole Holder. Of course, Peterson also played just one game in 2014 after he was indicted for beating his 4-year-old son with a switch.

If Minnesota decides to move on from the public relations disaster that is a disgruntled Peterson, they would save $13 million against the salary cap in 2015 before netting a combined savings of $32 million in 2016 and 2017.
The Cowboys are currently $1.587 million under the cap, the second-lowest total in the NFL next to the New Orleans Saints. To acquire Peterson whether it be by signing or trade, Dallas would have to move some money around.
