The New York Jets filed tampering charges for comments made by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft on Monday about cornerback Darrelle Revis, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Jets file tampering charges against Patriots
With tampering charges from the Patriots still pending against the Jets, the team returned the favor on Tuesday.

In January, the Patriots filed tampering chargers against the Jets after owner Woody Johnson spoke about how he’d “love for Darrelle to come back” to the team that drafted him. The investigation is still ongoing, although Johnson told reporters on Monday that he’s “not worried about anything.“
Kraft’s comments on Monday seemed much more innocuous than Johnson’s. Via NFL.com:
”We thought we made a very competitive offer, and I speak as a fan of the New England Patriots, we wanted to keep him, we wanted him in our system. And we have certain disciplines. We had hoped it worked out. It didn’t,” Kraft said from the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix. “He’s a great player. The fan in me wishes he were still with us.”
Johnson spoke about a desire to reunite with Revis and eventually the team did. Kraft spoke highly about a departed player and made no remarks about a desire to bring back Revis in the future.
Revis signed a five-year, $79 million deal with the Jets at the beginning of free agency with $39 million guaranteed. He played the first six seasons of his career with the Jets before he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013. Revis earned Pro Bowl honors in his only season with the Patriots in 2014 and earned a Super Bowl victory with the team.
