Quarterback Mark Sanchez will stay in Philadelphia after agreeing to a two-year deal with the Eagles, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The deal reportedly has a maximum value of $16 million with $5.5 million guaranteed.
Mark Sanchez re-signs with Eagles, per report
Mark Sanchez will remain in Philadelphia after all, agreeing to a two-year deal.

Sanchez signed a one-year deal with the Eagles last offseason and ended up playing a key role in their playoff fortunes, starting the final eight games of the season after Nick Foles was injured. Now Foles is healthy and will presumably be back in the starter's role to begin next season, but Sanchez could compete for the job as well.
Sanchez has endured a checkered career throughout his six years in the NFL. After being drafted fifth overall by the New York Jets out of USC in the 2009 NFL Draft, Sanchez helped New York reach back-to-back AFC Championship games. However, Sanchez struggled to improve going forward and the team's play fell off, failing to reach the postseason again.
The biggest issue for Sanchez has been turnovers. He's thrown 80 interceptions and fumbled 29 times in 71 games. The 28-year-old was solid for Philadelphia at first, leading the Eagles to a pair of wins over the Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers. After that, Sanchez went 3-4 with 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions, leaving Philadelphia at 10-6 and out of the playoffs.
