The San Diego Chargers have re-signed cornerback Brandon Flowers to a four-year deal, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Flowers was signed by the Chargers last offseason after the Kansas City Chiefs cut the veteran due to lack of scheme fit. Flowers went on to play 14 games, hauling in three interceptions. The deal is expected to be worth $36 million, per Albert Breer of NFL Network.
Brandon Flowers re-signs with Chargers
Flowers had a good year for San Diego in 2014, earning him a new contract.

Update: The Chargers made the deal official Monday.
Flowers has been one of the better corners in the NFL since Kansas City drafted him in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech. In six seasons with the Chiefs, Flowers had 17 interceptions and was generally asked to play anything from Cover 2 to an aggressive bump-and-run style. In 2013, Flowers moved into the slot during the second half of the season, something he excelled at.
San Diego has the making of a very solid secondary with Flowers and promising second-year corner Jason Verrett on the outside. All-Pro safety Eric Weddle, one of the better all-around players in the game, is behind them. With their remaining cap space, the Chargers may opt to upgrade their front seven. Jarret Johnson retired and Dwight Freeney moved on, leaving a major hole at outside linebacker.
