Eagles re-sign Brandon Graham to 4-year, $26 million deal

The edge rusher expects to take on a larger role in Philly’s defense.

The Philadelphia Eagles have dominated the headlines by agreeing to deals with several expensive free agents. Now the team has come to an agreement with one of its own. The Eagles announced that they have re-signed outside linebacker Brandon Graham to a long-term deal.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Graham’s new contract is worth $26 million over four years, $14 million of which is guaranteed. The linebacker was set to hit free agency Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET had an agreement not been worked out with the team.

Graham joined the Eagles in 2010 as a first-round pick. He languished behind Philadelphia's other pass rushers, though, taking on a reserve role rather than starting. However, after Philadelphia released Trent Cole last week to free up cap space, retaining Graham became a higher priority. He now expects to take over as a more heavily featured edge rusher.

In five seasons, Graham has registered 17 sacks, 120 tackles, nine forced fumbles and one recovery.
