Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey is now the highest-paid player at his position, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Pouncey and the Dolphins signed a five-year contract extension on Friday, and the deal will pay him "more than $50 million," according to Rapoport. He'll earn $11 million in 2015, and $22 million of his contract is guaranteed.
Mike Pouncey signs 5-year extension with Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins just made Mike Pouncey the highest-paid center in the league.

The Dolphins made it official Monday, announcing that Pouncey has been signed through the 2020 season.
The deal should eclipse the one signed this offseason by Rodney Hudson. The Oakland Raiders gave Hudson a five-year deal worth $44.5 million on the free agent market, which pays an average of $8.9 million per season. If Pouncey is getting more than $50 million in five years, his average is at least $1.1 million more than Hudson, making him the highest-paid center.
He's also making more than his brother Maurkice Pouncey, who is signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers through 2019 on a deal worth $44.1 million.
Pouncey has made the Pro Bowl twice since being made the No. 15 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He made the Pro Bowl in 2013 and last season as well, starting all 58 games he took part in. Pouncey was an immediate starter as a rookie, starting all 32 games at center for his first two seasons. He played right guard in 2014 due to the team's massive need at the position, but he's played his best football at center.
This extension was apparently agreed upon rather quickly. One report says the Dolphins and Pouncey’s agents began discussions on Thursday evening, with multiple offers swapped back and forth throughout Friday before the deal was reached on Friday night.
