A.J. Francis is a professional football player for the Miami Dolphins. The Miami Dolphins are currently not playing football, so A.J. Francis has some free time. He decided to use this time productively by applying to be an Uber driver. After hearing story after story about NFL players not handling money (or free time) well, seems like a pretty straightforward “good job, A.J.” kind of item, right?
People are so mad this NFL player wants to drive for Uber
Let A.J. Francis make his money.

Wrong! Everyone lost their freaking minds.
First up was Time Magazine, which ended its article on Francis’s offseason aspirations by noting he’ll probably get cut anyway. Francis hit them right back with the “YOU GAVE HITLER AN AWARD” for an instant TKO.
.@TIME I don't mind Yall taking shots at me. Gotta get your clicks I understand. But can you remind me who you gave Man of The Year in 1938?
— A.J. Francis (@AJFrancis410) April 23, 2015 Francis also corrected a tweet from ESPN’s Jemele Hill about his salary, and offered to come on His & Hers, Hill’s show with Michael Smith, to tell his side of the story. The group ended up sorting it out.
@michaelsmith @jemelehill @HisAndHers man of course lol wherever Yall wanna go we can all go together. I'll give Yall half off the rate lol
— A.J. Francis (@AJFrancis410) April 23, 2015 Francis’s Twitter mentions were also filled with people criticizing the decision, making jokes about child support (he has no children and is happily married) and his level of education (he’s a semester away from getting his Master’s).
People ask me why would you want to be an @uber driver if you play in the NFL... You know what's better than NFL money? More money.
— A.J. Francis (@AJFrancis410) April 23, 2015 Same ppl who tell their kids 2 have work ethic & always work 4 everything they want are mad that Im trying 2 be productive w/ free time lol
— A.J. Francis (@AJFrancis410) April 23, 2015 Let A.J. make his money, people. Damn.
