2015 NFL Draft results: Packers select Ty Montgomery in 3rd round

Aaron Rodgers gains another weapon.

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

With the No. 94 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected wide receiver Ty Montgomery of Stanford. Montgomery was named second-team All-Pac-12 as an all-purpose player and was an honorable mention as a wide receiver. He was also named second-team All-American as an all-purpose player in 2013, and was a second-team All-Pac-12 player as well.

Montgomery led his team in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns in 2013, and led all qualified FBS returners in kick return average. He’s missed multiple games due to knee and shoulder injuries and had shoulder surgery during the offseason. But aside from those health concerns, he was productive at Stanford.

His best season was 2013, in which he caught 61 passes for 958 yards and 10 touchdowns. He finished his college career with 172 receptions for 2,125 yards and 15 touchdowns. Montgomery had a decent showing at the NFL Scouting Combine in February, running the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds, the three-cone drill in 6.97 seconds, the 20-yard shuttle in 4.21 seconds and the 60-yard shuttle in 11.57 seconds. He also posted a vertical leap of 40.5 inches and a broad jump of 121 inches.
