With the 95th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Washington selected running back Matt Jones of Florida. Jones led the Gators in rushing yardage and touchdowns in 2014.
2015 NFL Draft picks: Matt Jones selected by Washington at No. 95
Washington adds another bruising running back to go along with Alfred Morris.

Jones finished his career with 297 carries for 1,431 yards and 11 touchdowns, adding 100 yards and a touchdown receiving. He had the best season of his career in 2014, with 166 carries for 817 yards and six touchdowns. That included a career-high 192 yards against Georgia.
Jones was one of the few bright sparks on Florida’s offense in 2014. The Gators had a rough time scoring points, but Jones always ran hard and it was somewhat surprising to see him enter the NFL Draft. His decision to leave early didn’t come long after Will Muschamp was ousted at Florida.
At the NFL Scouting Combine in February, Jones ran the 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds, though he improved upon those times slightly at his pro day, running the 40 in 4.59 and 4.55 seconds, respectively. He also ran the 20-yard shuttle in 4.20 seconds, put up 20 reps in the bench press, measured 31.5 inches in the vertical leap and 112 inches in the broad jump.
