NFL Draft results 2015: Javorius Allen drafted by Ravens

Allen will be taking the skills he honed at USC and showcasing them in the professional ranks.

With the No. 125 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected USC running back Javorius Allen.

Allen, who stands at 6’0 and weighs 221 pounds, impressed scouts with his ability to make tight turns and sharp cuts as well as his ability to stop on a dime and make defenders miss in the backfield. Allen showcased solid stop-and-go acceleration at the NFL Combine, running a 4.28 20-yard shuttle and a 6.96 on the three-cone drill. He also recorded a 4.53 40-yard dash.

Scouts also noted Allen’s ability to be a part of the passing game as he averaged 11.3 yards per catch over the final two seasons of his college career.

Unfortunately, Allen also showed some weaknesses during his college career. He runs tall, which is correctable, but also fails to explode through contact and tends to not have the vision to see developing running lanes.

In 2014, Allen picked up 1,489 yards and 11 touchdowns on 276 carried and added a touchdown and 458 yards on 41 receptions.
