University of Oklahoma offensive tackle Daryl Williams is set to join the Carolina Panthers after being taken with the No. 102 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Williams earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2014.
NFL Draft picks 2015: Daryl Williams goes to Panthers after trade
Daryl Williams went to the Panthers in the fourth round after the team traded up.

Anger and power are the two most-prominent characteristics in Williams’ game. He’s a large, brutally aggressive offensive tackle who defensive linemen hate to spend an afternoon against. He enters the NFL with 37 games worth of experience under his belt.
A four-star recruit coming out of high school, Williams earned All-Big 12 honorable mention by his redshirt sophomore year. While he has spent some time at left tackle, his frame (6’5, 327 pounds) makes him an ideal fit on the right side for teams that run gap-blocking schemes. He’ll terrorize defenders in the running game as he did for Samaje Perine at Oklahoma last season.
Where Williams projects to struggle is in pass protection. He’s slow footed and can be beaten off the snap by quicker edge rushers. When this happens, he tends to grab onto defenders and pull them to the ground, something that he won’t be able to get away with in the NFL. He may never develop into more than a passable pass blocker due to his athletic limitations.
At the combine, Williams ran the 40-yard dash in 5.34 seconds. His 26” vertical and 97” broad jump were among the lowest scores in Indianapolis.
Williams finished his college career with 37 starts, 36 of which came at right tackle.
