NFL Draft results 2015: Ramik Wilson goes to Chiefs in 4th
The Kansas City Chiefs took inside linebacker Ramik Wilson in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.

A four-star linebacker coming out of high school, Wilson spent two seasons as a rotational player before becoming a starter on the Bulldogs’ star-studded defense. Once he established himself, Wilson was one of Georgia’s most important defenders. His best year came in 2013 when he led the team with 133 tackles while also producing 11 tackles for loss and four sacks.
For an off-ball linebacker, Wilson possesses good size (6’2, 237 pounds) and movement skills. He plays faster than his Combine and pro day measurements suggest, and can run down receivers while patrolling the middle of the field. A heady player, Wilson makes smart decisions and isn’t often caught out of position.
Where Wilson needs to improve is core strength. He struggles to power through blockers once they’ve engaged him and, consequently, isn’t always able to take the most direct path to the ball carrier. While his tackling production was solid at Georgia, he doesn’t hit as hard as he should.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Wilson ran the 40-yard dash in 4.78 seconds. He improved that time to 4.62 at his pro day. Wilson also registered 35” and 111” in the vertical leap and broad jump respectively.
Wilson started 25 games during his college career but played in 44 total. He accumulated 253 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and six sacks during that time.
