With the No. 156 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins selected wide receiver/cornerback Tony Lippett of Michigan State. Lippett was a first-team All-Big Ten player in 2014, starting all 13 games. The two-way player was announced at the draft as a defensive back.
NFL Draft results 2015: Tony Lippett goes to Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins took wide receiver/cornerback Tony Lippett in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Lippett saw his production increase in all four seasons with Michigan State, going from 44 yards to 392 to 613 in 2013. Last season, he caught 65 passes for 1,198 yards and 11 touchdowns. Over his four-year career, he caught 149 passes for 2,247 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Lippett played both sides of the ball in college, starting at wide receiver and cornerback in his final season. However, he’s a better receiver than he is a cornerback, and that projects to be his position at the next level. Lippett ran a 4.61-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. He also ran a 6.92-second three-cone drill, a 4.13-second 20-yard shuttle, an 11.44-second 60-yard shuttle, and he also put up 36 inches on the vertical jump and 114 inches on the broad jump.
