With the No. 148 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints selected outside linebacker Davis Tull of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Tull was a dominant player in the Southern Conference, nabbing Defensive Player of the Year honors in the conference for three consecutive seasons.
NFL Draft picks 2015: Davis Tull goes to Saints in 5th round
The New Orleans Saints took Davis Tull in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.

Tull found success immediately at Chattanooga, earning FCS Freshman All-American honors and first-team All-American nods in the next three seasons. He is the all-time sacks leader in the Southern Conference with 37 and set TC single-season records with 12.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss as a sophomore in 2012.
While he was productive and ultra successful at the FCS level, the jump to the NFL can be a steep one. Especially for a player like Tull, who lacks ideal length and size that will likely earn him the label “tweener.”
Tull was a limited participant in both the NFL Combine and his pro day, due to a hamstring strain that kept him out of the East-West Shrine Game altogether. He still managed to post an impressive 42.5-inch vertical leap at the combine, with 26 bench press reps and a broad jump of 11 feet.
