Chicago Bears defensive lineman Ray McDonald was arrested by San Jose police on charges of misdemeanor domestic violence and child endangerment, according to a report from Damian Trujillo of NBC Bay Area. The Santa Clara Police Department issued a statement that McDonald was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly "physically assaulted the victim while she was holding a baby."

McDonald was arrested Monday morning, according to San Jose police.
McDonald left the location where the incident occurred and was arrested at an address owned by former 49ers teammate Justin Smith, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
McDonald has a son who was born in March. The 30-year-old was was previously arrested for domestic violence in August 2014 against his ex-fiancee, who was pregnant at the time, but no charges were filed.
Bears Cut Ties
In December, McDonald was released by the San Francisco 49ers shortly after he was named as a suspect in a sexual assault investigation. An investigation by the NFL found that McDonald did not violate the league's personal conduct policy and he was not subject to the mandatory six-game suspension for domestic violence violations.
The woman involved filed a lawsuit in May against both McDonald and 49ers outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks, while McDonald filed a defamation lawsuit in response.
Chicago signed McDonald to a one-year deal in March and have not yet issued a response to the report of the arrest. Shortly after signing McDonald, Bears chairman George McCaskey told reporters that he originally opposed the idea of signing the defensive end, but changed his mind after meeting with him.
“I was impressed with how sincere he was and how motivated he is. He understands, I think, that he could have well been facing the end of his football career. And he loves football. And he wants that career to continue. So I was impressed with his motivation.”
He was also arrested for drunken driving in 2010.
In eight seasons with the 49ers, McDonald made 68 starts and accumulated 19.5 sacks and five forced fumbles.
