New Orleans Saints linebacker Junior Galette has been caught on video fighting with multiple people and striking a woman twice with a belt, according to Larry Holder of NOLA.com. In the video, which was posted on March 25, 2013, a man identified as Galette is seen fighting a man and whipping him with a belt before turning on onlookers.
Saints’ Junior Galette caught on video striking woman with belt in 2013, per report
A 2013 video has emerged allegedly showing Saints linebacker Junior Galette striking a woman with a belt, according to a report.

Why the fight took place at all and the identities of the other people involved in the video, which can be seen on YouTube here, are both unknown at this point. We do know that the NFL and the Saints are aware of the video and Galette’s involvement, according to Holder.
The Saints released the following statement later Saturday:
“We were made aware of the video and we sent it to the league office,” Saints spokesman Greg Bensel said. “There is a process this will go through at the league-office level and we are waiting on that to be determined.”
Although the NFL had no comment on the matter, Galette’s attorney, Ralph Whalen, insisted it was not Galette on the video.
It’s unclear how long the NFL and the Saints have been aware of the video and Galette’s involvement. That said, Galette is already dealing with issues pertaining to his off-field conduct -- he was arrested for simple battery involving domestic violence in January. An unnamed 22-year-old woman alleged that Galette beat her, but the charge was dismissed after doubts were raised as to the woman’s status as a member of the household.
Once that charge was dropped, she filed a civil suit against Galette on the same day, but there has been no movement on the case since March. Galette is supposed to meet with NFL brass later this month to discuss his off-field conduct, according to Holder.
