Denver Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe has been suspended four games for a violation of the league's performance-enhancing drug policy, the team announced on Friday. Because the suspension was announced by the team, that means the appeal process, if used, has already run its course.
Broncos DE Derek Wolfe suspended 4 games for PED violation
Wolfe will miss games against the Ravens, Chiefs, Lions and Vikings due to a four-game suspension.

Wolfe says that he took a medication that was on the banned substance list, but that he “genuinely was unaware” that it was disallowed. Whatever the medication was, Wolfe said that it is not a substance that would enhance his on-field performance, but noted that “players are responsible for what is in their bodies.”
“I will certainly exercise far greater caution in the future and will seek advice relating to the permissibility of any and all medications,” Wolfe said in a statement.
“Please allow me to offer my most sincere apology to everyone in the Broncos organization, and especially to my teammates and our fans.”
Wolfe is one of the starters on Denver's defensive line and is known for being one of the league's top defenders when it comes to stopping the run. He doesn't provide much pass-rushing pop, but he consistently contributed to a Broncos run defense that was among the best in the league last season. Replacing his production will be tough for the four games the Broncos will be without him. They play the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings in their first four games.
