K Garrett Hartley signs with Steelers to replace injured Shaun Suisham
Garrett Hartley is hoping to impress after being waived by the Browns in May.

Hartley emerged as the Steelers' choice after participating in a tryout along with Alex Henery and veteran Jay Feely. He last appeared in uniform for two games with the Cleveland Browns last season after being signed as an injury replacement for Billy Cundiff. He attempted three field goals and made them all, including a 43-yarder, but was waived by the team in May in favor of sixth-round draft pick Charles Gaines.
Hartley spent the first six seasons of his career with the New Orleans Saints. He appeared to be the team's long-term answer at kicker when he went 13-for-13 on field goal attempts as a rookie. His percentage dipped to relatively marginal levels over his subsequent seasons, however, with a low of 73.3 percent (22-of-30) during his final season in New Orleans in 2013.
For his career, Hartley has made 81.7 percent of his field goal attempts, including 6-of-8 from beyond 50 yards. He has missed an extra point just once in 179 attempts.
