St. Louis Rams cornerback E.J. Gaines will miss the entire 2015 season after undergoing foot surgery, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Gaines suffered a Lisfranc injury early in training camp when a teammate stepped on his foot. He did not play in the Rams' first preseason game against the Raiders Friday night.
Rams CB E.J. Gaines reportedly out for season with foot injury
The St. Louis secondary is down one of their best players for 2015.

Gaines, a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, started 15 games as a rookie after filling in for an injured Trumaine Johnson. The two were competing for the starting role once again opposite Janoris Jenkins, with Gaines also battling Lamarcus Joyner at nickel.
Jenkins and Johnson, both entering their fourth season in the league, are solid players, but Gaines’ injury is still a big loss for the Rams.
The only game Gaines missed in 2014 was the Rams' season finale against the Seattle Seahawks after he sustained a concussion. The Missouri product snagged two interceptions and totaled 70 tackles, 15 passes defended and one fumble recovery in his first season.
