All eyes will be on Jameis Winston once again as he takes the field for his second preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Raymond James Stadium Monday night.

Jameis Winston will look to improve on a mixed performance from his first preseason game, and the Bengals probably just hope they can escape Tampa Bay healthy.

Winston's first taste of NFL game action last week was a mixed bag. He went 3-of-10 and threw an interception in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' first six possessions of the first half before leading the Bucs on a 76-yard touchdown drive as the second quarter was coming to a close. The Buccaneers are hoping Winston finds his rhythm a little earlier Saturday night.
It was a rough opening to the preseason on the whole for the Buccaneers, who lost to the Minnesota Vikings, 26-16. The running game -- which was third-worst in the league last year -- only accounted for 89 yards on 26 attempts. Tampa Bay's pass defense was also diced up -- Vikings quarterbacks went 27 for 33 and threw two touchdown passes.
Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had a strong preseason debut last week against the New York Giants, leading his club to a touchdown on its first drive. The Bengals walloped the Giants, 23-10, and gained 432 yards in the victory. Second-year quarterback AJ McCarron did not play, but is expected to suit up this week.
It appears to be a make-or-break year for the Bengals, who have still yet to win a playoff game under Marvin Lewis. If Cincinnati doesn’t win a playoff game this year, Lewis, Dalton and other veteran members of the team could be cut loose.
Most of the Bengals’ core remains intact from previous years, so the preseason slate is likely viewed as nothing more than a tune-up. While Winston and the Buccaneers may be looking to prove something, the Bengals are probably hoping to just get out of August healthy.
