Following offseason rumors that he could be traded, Mychal Kendricks and the Eagles have instead agreed to terms on a contract extension. Kendricks signed a four-year deal worth $29 million overall and $16 million guaranteed on Monday according to Albert Breer of NFL Network.
Eagles sign LB Mychal Kendricks to reported $29 million extension
Trade rumors can finally be laid to rest as a contract extension will keep Kendricks in Philly for a while.

Heading into his fourth season with the Eagles, Kendricks will bring experience that the line needs with so many offseason changes and injuries. His career with Philly includes 264 combined tackles, nine sacks, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
Aside from being a possible starter on the line this season, he is also a type of insurance policy should DeMeco Ryans go down during the year. The Eagles also have new addition Kiko Alonso, but he’s already suffered a concussion during training camp so depth at the inside position is important.
Congratulations to @Eagles LB @MychalKendricks in signing his extension today. Great work by @DHendrickson41 pic.twitter.com/vO0LFjs5bD
