Nearly a year after he was first suspended by the NFL for assaulting his wife, Ray Rice is still hopeful to regain his NFL career. Rice sat down for an interview with ESPN’s Outside the Lines and discussed the incident at length while calling himself a “rehabilitated man.”
‘Rehabilitated’ Ray Rice focused on moving forward after ‘the worst decision of his life’
Ray Rice sat down with ESPN to discuss the incident from last summer, his career and more.

“I can understand some people probably never will forgive my actions,” Rice said, via ESPN. “But I think that every step that I took going forward right now -- over time, I want to be able to rewrite the script, to tell my daughter that daddy made the worst decision of his life, but this is what I did going forward.”
Rice was reinstated by the NFL in late November after winning an appeal of his suspension. He reportedly received minimal interest from teams since and remains unsigned. According to ESPN, a “group of advocates” has contacted teams on Rice’s behalf, trying to persuade a team to sign him. Rice said he remains hopeful for an opportunity to “hang them up in the right way.”
Here is a small portion of Rice’s interview with ESPN.
