Wednesday was just another day at training camp for NFL teams, only with what seems like a whole lot more injuries than usual. Specifically, everybody seems to be nursing some kind of hamstring injury, to varying degrees of severity. One of the more notable hamstring injuries was sustained by Cleveland Browns wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, who sat out of Wednesday's practice, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Everybody has hamstring injuries at NFL training camps
Hamstring injuries are the new “in” thing at NFL training camps, and other news from Wednesday.

Pryor is one of the more intriguing players this offseason, as he’s making the difficult transition from quarterback to wide receiver. Still, he seems to have a lot of believers -- Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said “the Terrelle Pryor hype at receiver is very real.” But now the injury will likely cause Pryor to miss the team’s Friday scrimmage at Ohio State, his first visit to his former college since he left the team in 2011.
Another Browns receiver, Dwayne Bowe, also sat out Wednesday with a pulled hamstring. His status for Friday's scrimmage is also doubtful.
Other players dealing with hamstring injuries:
- Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Tevin Coleman, who missed practice due to the injury.
- Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee, who sustained the injury at practice.
- Carolina Panthers rookie linebacker Shaq Thompson, who sat with "tightness" in his hamstring, according to The Charlotte Observer.
Below, we’ve got more news and notes from around training camps:
Bills RBs banged up
The Buffalo Bills are also dealing with some injuries at this stage. Starting running back LeSean McCoy has not participated in team drills this week due to a toe injury, according to Mike Rodak of ESPN. The team is adamant that McCoy isn't dealing with a serious injury, but it's worth noting he did miss some time with a toe injury in the past. Still, McCoy is expected to be fine and the Bills are taking it slow with him.
Unfortunately, the other running back injury, this one to Anthony Dixon, is a little more serious. Dixon is dealing with a calf injury that could force him to miss up to a month. Dixon was injured on Monday and sat out of practice on Wednesday. The nature of the injury wasn’t known until Wednesday, either. Dixon is a key special teams player and backup running back.
Still no picks for Mariota
Five days into practice, and Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota has still not thrown an interception. This is pretty significant, since you typically expect defenses to outperform offenses early on in training camp, and considering Mariota is a rookie and has a long way to go before he has the NFL figured out, no interceptions is pretty good.
Mariota completed 8 of 12 passes on Wednesday, and that included two drops, according to the team website. Mariota is set to be the starter this season, as the Titans won't be forcing him into any kind of arbitrary quarterback competition. They spent the No. 2 overall pick on him in the 2015 NFL Draft, they plan on throwing him out there and by all accounts thus far, he might just succeed.
Sights and sounds from Wednesday
There weren't a lot of non-injury, non-Mariota headlines on Wednesday, but there were plenty of interesting odds and ends. First, we can all lament the fact that there's no video going around on Antonio Brown apparently destroying every single defensive player on the Steelers:
Antonio Brown toasting dudes in one-on-ones. Has toasted everyone. Keeps yelling "ALL DAY" and "100 percent" #steelers
— Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) August 5, 2015 Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry seems to be getting settled back into things, snaring an interception off of quarterback Aaron Murray:
An interception just now for Eric Berry. Tipped ball. Murray the QB
— Adam Teicher (@adamteicher) August 5, 2015 Wide receiver Duron Carter, son of Hall of Famer Cris Carter, seems to be impressing for the Indianapolis Colts:

— Hayden Grove (@H_Grove) August 5, 2015 And hey look, it's Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin getting inspiration at Jets training camp.
In other news, Jaguars running back Storm Johnson was removed from the non-football illness list and is expected to make his training camp debut on Thursday. Browns linebacker Barkevious Mingo has a knee injury and missed practice, as reported by Cabot. The Giants also had several players sit out of practice:
Giants camp injuries Wednesday: Flowers (hip), Richburg (knee), McClain (stinger), Amukamara (groin) all sat out all or part.
— Dan Graziano (@DanGrazianoESPN) August 5, 2015 None, however, were hamstring injuries.
