Jets CB Dee Milliner expected to miss 6-8 weeks following wrist surgery
Dee Milliner had five surgeries in college, tore his Achilles with the Jets last season and will now have wrist surgery on Friday.

Unfortunately, this is just the most recent in a string of injuries for Milliner that dates back to his college career. He had five surgeries before the Jets even considered taking him with the ninth overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. Milliner had operations on his right and left shoulders, a scope on his right knee, sports hernia surgery and surgery on his right tibia before even reaching the NFL.
As a rookie, Milliner struggled and was benched multiple times for his play. He did stay relatively healthy that season, though, and played in 13 games, pulling down three interceptions. Last season, Milliner played in just three games before sustaining a torn Achilles tendon and going on season-ending injured reserve. He also missed time in that year’s training camp with an ankle injury.
The Jets obviously knew about his issues when they drafted him. In fact, Milliner was still recovering from shoulder surgery when the Jets selected him, and they knew that he’d miss all of their organized team activities in his rookie season.
Fortunately for the Jets, they're not dependent on Milliner's health after spending big on the cornerback position in free agency. Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine comprise New York's top three cornerbacks, which makes for one of the better units in the league.
