Ryan Fitzpatrick tossed a pretty gross interception for the Jets in the first half against the Browns, throwing vaguely in the direction of Brandon Marshall, but way behind him, where only a defender could catch it. For some wide receivers, the play would be over after a half-hearted attempt at tackling the interceptor. NOT FOR BRANDON MARSHALL:
Brandon Marshall watches his QB throw a pick, STEALS THE BALL RIGHT BACK FROM THE DEFENDER
Even when Ryan Fitzpatrick throws an interception, Brandon Marshall ends up making the catch.
Marshall realized Tashaun Gipson probably wasn’t the most skilled ballcarrier and just ripped at the ball as hard as he could. He stole it from Gipson -- who claimed, inaccurately, that he was down -- and ran six yards. The Jets scored a game-tying TD a few plays later, so this was a huge play, swapping a turnover for a completion to the red zone.
