Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones once called Tony Romo the best quarterback in the NFL in the fourth quarter. Romo’s career has made that debatable at times, but Romo made Jones look like a prophet on Sunday, leading the Cowboys on a methodical game-winning drive against the New York Giants.
Tony Romo leads Cowboys on surgical game-winning drive
Dallas took over trailing, 26-20, with just 1:29 to play and no time outs. They needed to drive 72 yards to win the game and do it quickly. That was no problem for Romo who completed 5 of 6 passes on the drive, hitting Jason Witten for the game-winning touchdown.
That play could have been disastrous with the dropped snap, but Romo played it cool, gathered himself and fired a strike. Dan Bailey converted the extra point and the Cowboys stole a win.
