The NFL announced on Monday that Washington cornerback Chris Culliver will be suspended for the team's Week 2 game against the St. Louis Rams due to a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy. He will be eligible to return to action in time for a Week 3 Thursday night game against the New York Giants.
Washington CB Chris Culliver suspended for Week 2
Culliver was arrested in 2014 for hit-and-run and possession of brass knuckles.

While the league didn’t provide specifics about the violation of the personal conduct policy, the suspension likely stems from his 2014 arrest for hit-and-run, so Washington likely knew about the possibility of discipline from the NFL when the team signed him to a four-year, $32 million deal in the offseason.
Culliver, 27, was charged with possession of brass knuckles, a misdemeanor charge of hit-and-run causing injury, and a misdemeanor charge of hit-and-run causing property damage.
Washington was without second-year cornerback Bashaud Breeland in Week 1 while he was serving a one-game suspension for violation of the league's substance abuse policy, so it will essentially be a swap of Breeland for Culliver in Week 2.
DeAngelo Hall started opposite Culliver in the opener, and although he left the game early with a rib injury, he will likely be the starter again, this time opposite Breeland.
