Brent Grimes’ wife arrested at Dolphins game

Her arrest was caught on video Sunday and shows an expletive-laden tirade directed at police.

The wife of Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes was arrested on Sunday at Sun Life Stadium on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer, according to the South Beach Sun Sentinel.

According to the arrest report, Miko Grimes attempted to access a restricted area and yelled obscenities at officers attempting to keep her away from the southeast gate that was being blocked by police performing crowd control. Per the report, Grimes attempted to fight off arresting officers and even head-butted one that lifted her to her feet after she was handcuffed.

Video of the arrest taken by a bystander shows Grimes on an expletive-laden tirade as she’s handcuffed by police:

Miko Grimes has never been one to bite her tongue and caught attention for a NSFW Twitter rant in January, blasting the NFL for everything from its handling of domestic violence to her husband not receiving the Pro Bowl MVP award. She is a frequent radio host on 560-WQAM in Miami where she has voiced similar opinions.

Grimes was booked into a Miami-Dade County jail and released on bond.

Her husband, Brent Grimes, is in his third season with the Dolphins and signed a four-year, $32 million contract with the team in the 2014 offseason. He previously spent the first six seasons of his career with the Atlanta Falcons after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent following the 2007 NFL Draft. Grimes has earned three trips to the Pro Bowl, including in each of his first two seasons in Miami.

On Monday, Dolphins head Joe Philbin said he was aware of the arrest, but it has no impact on Grimes’ standing with the team. Brent and Miko Grimes married in May 2013, two months after the cornerback first signed with the Dolphins.
