Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has started this season on a tear, amassing 440 yards and four touchdowns on 34 receptions in his first three games. If he keeps up his current pace, Jones will break the all-time single-season receiving record Calvin Johnson set with the Detroit Lions in 2012.
Julio Jones on pace to break Calvin Johnson’s single-season yards record
After an explosive start in 2015, Jones is looking to set several records this year.

Johnson totaled 1,964 receiving yards in 2012. If Jones keeps this up, he would finish with 2,347 receiving yards. Obviously, the 26-year-old still has a long way to go.
In Week 3 alone, Jones had 12 receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns. He’s currently leading the NFL in receptions and yards, and is tied for second among receivers in touchdowns.
Jones has already put his name in the record books to start the year, becoming the first player in league history to finish with 135 receiving yards or more in each of his first three games. His 34 receptions are also an NFL record through three games.
Jones will look to continue his torrid pace at home the next two weeks against the Texans and then against Washington, neither of which are particularly easy assignments. Houston ranks No. 12 in the league in defending the pass through three weeks, giving up a total of 224 yards per game through the air. Washington has been even better, currently placing No. 7 in the same category by only surrendering 202 yards per game in the passing game thus far.
