Even though starters will play sparingly, the Jets and Eagles should provide plenty of entertainment when they meet for their preseason finale Thursday night. One of the biggest storylines heading this offseason was on how the new-look Eagles would fare under second-year head coach Chip Kelly. Stalwarts such as DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy have been traded since Kelly took over, and there is little doubt that he has molded the Eagles to his liking.

The most intriguing battle in this one may be between Tim Tebow and Matt Barkley, who are fighting for a spot as the Eagles’ No. 3 QB.

So far, the results have even electrifying.
Philadelphia has scored a combined 115 points in three preseason games, and thrashed the Packers 39-26 last week. Sam Bradford completed 10 of 11 passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.
No one has ever questioned Bradford’s overall ability; the question has been whether the former No. 1 pick can stay on the field. If Bradford’s performance this preseason is any indication of what’s to come, this could be the year he finally lives up to the hype.
Given Bradford's injury history, it's unlikely he -- or most of the Eagles starters, for that matter -- will take the field in the Meadowlands against the Jets Thursday night. That means fans could get treated a nice big helping of ... wait for it ... Tebow Time!
Tebow's new potential role as a two-point conversion specialist didn't go well last Saturday night, when he failed to convert both attempts. Tebow finished the night 2 for 2 with 15 yards while rushing for 4 yards. He will likely take the bulk of the snaps Thursday night alongside Matt Barkley, who remains in a battle with Tebow for the No. 3 quarterback spot.
Barkley impressed in Week 1 of the preseason, finished 12 of 20 with 192 yards and one interception. He also led Philly on a five-play, 76-yard touchdown drive, but has played sporadically since. Thursday night could be his last chance to prove his worth in Philly, or to whichever teams may be interested in him on the trade market.
The Jets turned in an impressive performance of their own against the Giants last week, thumping the G-Men, 28-18. After two unimpressive outings playing in place of Geno Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick bounced back with a two-touchdown pass performance. Veteran defensive back Antonio Cromartie returned an interception for a touchdown as well.
But since this is the fourth game of the preseason, rookie quarterback Bryce Petty will probably play the majority of the game for the Jets. He went 5 of 8 for 42 yards last week, and head coach Todd Bowles said he's improving each time he steps on the field.
Besides watching Petty play, there are a number of end-of-the-roster battles to look for with the Jets, including at linebacker where Erin Henderson could provide some depth for the Jets at that position. It's pretty safe to assume the majority of Jets starters won't be out there, as the club will already be a little thin up front in Week 1 with Sheldon Richardson serving his suspension.
Perhaps the best news the Jets will receive this week, regardless of how Thursday's game plays out, is that star rookie defensive lineman Leonard Williams checked out OK following an injury scare last week.
