2016 NFL playoffs live stream: How to watch Packers vs. Washington online
Green Bay is limping into this postseason.
For months, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has promised his team will be fine once the playoffs roll around. Well, here they are, and the Packers are coming off two consecutive losses -- including a 30-point defeat against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16.
The Packers have only scored 21 points over their last two games, which is shocking considering Rodgers is their quarterback. Green Bay hasn’t been able to get into a groove offensively all season long and arguably lost its division because of it.
Though the Packers have had more than four months to cope with the loss of No. 1 wide receiver Jordy Nelson, who tore his ACL in preseason, they've been unable to replace him. Outside of James Jones, not a single receiver has stepped up consistently. Starting running back Eddie Lacy has been disappointing, too, and has struggled with his weight all season long.
Washington appears to be in better shape heading into Sunday’s Wild Card matchup. It won its final four games of the season to capture the NFC East and has ridden the play of quarterback Kirk Cousins. The four-year veteran posted an average QB rating of 125.3 from Week 12 until the end of the regular season.
This started out as another season of turmoil for Washington, as Robert Griffin III’s uncertain status clouded over the team throughout most of training camp. But head coach Jay Gruden named Cousins the starter at the end of August and never looked back.
As a result, Washington is in the playoffs for only the second time in 10 years. Sometimes being bold pays off in a big way.
