Ray Rice will serve as one of the coaches during the NFL Players Association's Collegiate Bowl later this week. The former Baltimore Ravens running back has been out of the NFL since being released in September 2014 amid a domestic violence scandal.
Ray Rice will coach at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl
The former Ravens running back has been out of the league since 2014.

Rice will join Priest Holmes as a running backs coach for Mike Martz's National team. The bowl, which is for draft-eligible college players, will be held Saturday at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. The week leading up to the bowl features practices and an introduction to the NFL players' union as well as various business classes. The goal is to help incoming NFL players prepare for the world of professional football.
“Young rookies, anybody in college ... I want to be able to spread all of my experiences to help other people, to make them understand that domestic violence is not OK, not even one time,” Rice said in an interview with ESPN in November.
“So if I never played a down again, why not see if I could use their platform to go out there and help make a difference.”
The 28-year-old Rice has made it clear that he’s interested in re-entering the NFL, but he has yet to be given a shot since video emerged of him striking his then-fiancée, now his wife, Janay Palmer in the face in an Atlantic City hotel elevator.
Rice was soon after released by the Ravens, and initially suspended indefinitely by the NFL (which had suspended him just two games before video of the incident was leaked by TMZ). Rice appealed that suspension, won, and had it reduced to six games.
